Parker HAle and Other Target Shooting
Shooting Sports in the British Commonwealth have been a key part in maintaining a fighting force and Empire - since the Norman Invasion. Firearms from the rim fire period were used for sport in galleries, gardens and competitions - Center fire added to this and the distances, targets and scoring became very diverse. The gun district of Birmingham flourished for shotgun, pistol and rifle sporting arms and accessories. Parker Hale dominated this segment for over a century and lead to many innovations that added to the war effort for WW1 and WW2. Similarly Central of Australia is a rated and capable producer of British 303 and 7.62 x 51mm aiming devices.
